Infrastructure Development & Management
Community Infrastructure (Shelter) Project, NWFP
From 1992 to 1994, IDC led the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of the Community Infrastructure (Shelter) Project (CIP) in NWFP (now KPK). The project, with a budget of over US $40 million, focused on improving infrastructure in urban and rural communities, including drinking water supply, sanitation, solid waste management, drainage, and flood protection. The project emphasized beneficiary involvement from planning to implementation and operation.

Customs Performance Measurement Study of Kabul Airport and Kabul Customs House (Gumrak) in Afghanistan
In November 2004, IDC participated in a World Bank-supported project to assess customs procedures at Kabul Airport and Kabul Customs House in Afghanistan. The project aimed to measure the time taken to clear goods and identify areas for improvement in trade facilitation.


Feasibility Study and Detailed Design of Sibi-Kohlu-Rakhni Road Project, Balochistan
In February 2007, IDC, in association with Associated Consultancy Centre (ACC), was engaged by the National Logistic Centre (NLC) on behalf of the C&W Department of the Government of Balochistan to provide consultancy services for the Sibi-Kohlu-Rakhni Road Project. The project aimed to improve trade and transportation by designing a fast and efficient route between different parts of Balochistan province. The scope of work included alignment studies, detailed surveys, geotechnical investigations, hydrological studies, environmental assessments, and detailed design of the road and associated structures.


​Performance Measurement of Karachi International Terminal (KICT) and Custom House, Pakistan
In 2004, IDC participated in a pilot project at the Karachi International Terminal (KICT) to modernize customs procedures and facilitate trade. The project involved collecting data on border and inland clearance times to establish a baseline for measuring future improvements

NHA- Social and Resettlement of Multan – Muzaffargarh (N-70) 36.5 Km
IDC worked on the NHA- Social/Resettlement of Multan – Muzaffargarh (N-70) project, funded by ADB and NHA. The project focused on ensuring fair compensation and resettlement assistance to those affected by the road development, including informal squatters. Key activities included third-party assessments, claims settlement, resettlement plan implementation, training for NHA officials, and grievance redressal.


NWFP Road Development Sector and Sub-Regional Connectivity Project, Provincial Policy Reforms and Institutional Strengthening Component
In October 2006, IDC, in association with Sheladia Associates Inc. and other firms, was engaged by the Government of NWFP (now KPK) to provide consultancy services for the NWFP Road Development Sector and Sub-Regional Connectivity Project. The project focused on policy reforms and institutional strengthening of the Frontier Highway Authority (FHA) and Works and Services Department (WSD). Key objectives included capacity building, developing modern maintenance concepts, preparing contract documentation, expanding the road asset management system, and implementing a road safety program.
